Dining in the Dark
June 9th 7-9pm
A blackout dining event is a unique dining experience that takes place in complete darkness. Hosted in the Magnolia Room, guests will be guided into a specially designed dining room that is completely void of any light. The idea behind this concept is to enhance the sense of taste, smell, and touch by removing the distraction of sight.
Once seated, guests will be served a multi-course meal by trained waitstaff who are equipped with night vision goggles to navigate in the dark. Each dish is carefully prepared to highlight the flavors and textures of the ingredients used, while the absence of sight forces diners to focus on their other senses.
In addition to the food, the ambiance of this blackout dining event is designed to create a sense of mystery and excitement. Music, aromas, and sounds are carefully curated to add to the overall sensory experience. The darkness also allows for a sense of intimacy and social interaction, as guests must rely on their other senses and conversation to engage with their dining companions.
Overall, this blackout dining event is a unique and unforgettable culinary adventure that stimulates the senses in unexpected ways. It offers an opportunity to break away from the monotony of traditional dining and try something completely new and exciting!
Guests arrive and are greeted with a complimentary cocktail and a brief orientation

Can I see the menu?Fine wine and food pairing is an art that involves finding the perfect balance between the flavors and textures of both the wine and the food. Pairing wine with food can enhance the dining experience, bringing out the best in both the wine and the dish and creating a harmonious balance of flavors. When it comes to wine and food pairing, the key is to match the intensity and flavor profile of the wine with the dish. For example, a full-bodied red wine pairs well with a hearty beef stew, while a light-bodied white wine complements a seafood dish. Another important aspect of wine and food pairing is considering the individual components of the dish. For example, the acidity of a tomato-based sauce can be balanced by a wine with high acidity, while the richness of a creamy sauce can be complemented by a full-bodied wine with a smooth finish. Ultimately, the goal of fine wine and food pairing is to create a dining experience that is both enjoyable and memorable. With the right pairing, each sip and bite can be elevated to a new level, creating a perfect harmony of flavors that will leave a lasting impression. Our menu is exclusive and unique to Cantina Ocala.
