A blackout dining event is a unique dining experience that takes place in complete darkness. Hosted in the Magnolia Room, guests will be guided into a specially designed dining room that is completely void of any light. The idea behind this concept is to enhance the sense of taste, smell, and touch by removing the distraction of sight.
Once seated, guests will be served a multi-course meal by trained waitstaff who are equipped with night vision goggles to navigate in the dark. Each dish is carefully prepared to highlight the flavors and textures of the ingredients used, while the absence of sight forces diners to focus on their other senses.
In addition to the food, the ambiance of this blackout dining event is designed to create a sense of mystery and excitement. Music, aromas, and sounds are carefully curated to add to the overall sensory experience. The darkness also allows for a sense of intimacy and social interaction, as guests must rely on their other senses and conversation to engage with their dining companions.

The Evening

Guests arrive and are greeted with a complimentary cocktail and a brief orientation
7:00pm
Guests are seated and the lights shut off promptly at 7pm.
9:00pm
Your dinner will conclude and the lights will rise to a low dim.

How long is dinner?The dinner is from 7:00-9:00pm. To accommodate our guests in the best way possible, we ask when you make your reservation to allow yourself the full two hours with no early dismissal so we can keep the experience seamless for all guests.

How do I make a reservation?You can reserve your seats on our website under the Upcoming Events tab. Purchasing your ticket is how you reserve your seat, but please keep in mind, tickets are non-refundable after purchase. If you have a party of more than 2 and are purchasing your tickets separately, we will call to confirm your party size so you can be seated together.

Do you allow walk-ins?As long as we have availability, yes. We would HIGHLY recommend purchasing your ticket ahead of time since we have a limited number of seats. If you want to wait until day of, give us a call prior to 6:30 so we can assess the availability at that time.

What is the required dress code?Dress for comfort!

What if I need to be excused from the table?Your server will be more than happy to guide you to the lobby for any needs you may have, and they will also guide you back when you are ready. In order to make sure all guests have an enjoyable experience, cell phone use is not permitted in the dining room and they must remain off for the entire duration. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.

Is alcohol available for purchase during dinner?Yes, full bar is open, and bottles of wine will be able to be purchased during presentation.

What is the ticket cost?The cost per person is $150.00 per guest and includes a 4 course prix-fixe dinner. Our menu is unique and exclusive to Cantina Ocala. Gratuity is not included in the cost of your dining ticket, and is highly recommended.
